WE WERE RIGHT!!!!

We had a girl! DH and I were stunned to find out that we were right, it's a girl! We thought DS was a girl. We thought this one was a girl, so we were kind of convinced it was a boy (follow our logic?). We're thrilled to have one of each. I don't know how to download pics from our new camera, or to upload to Blogger, so you won't see a pic of her any time soon, sorry. Our little angel is beautiful, and came with a full head of hair, which was another shocker, since all the babies in both of our families have arrived sans hair, including our son. She also has a ton of stork bites (all in her hair), and DS had none. It's amazing how different two children can be. Things are moving along just as they should with a new baby in the house. And DS couldn't be sweeter with her. He loves "his" baby. That's what he calls her. And when he can't see her, he asks us where she is. Of course he's had his moments, he is only 2 3/4 after all! But all in all, things are going well. (shhhh, don't tell, I don't want it to change . . . )

Yes it has taken me forever to post. There're a number of reasons. The C-section itself was fine, but by the time I got home from the hospital, the pain was increasing. We came home on Monday, by Tuesday I was back in the hospital with an infection in my incision. Wednesday I was at my doctor, as with Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Saturday I was at the walk-in clinic with our new angel, turns out she has an infected tear duct. If I don't see another doctor till our 6 week check-up I will be thrilled. It turns out the doctors in the hospital didn't exactly do their jobs, and I would have been treated there if they had been. I'm a little pissed, as are both of my own doctors. My family doctor is following up, and taking the doctors who were supposed to be caring for me in hospital to task. I'm trying hard not to let it affect me, but it's kind of hard. DH had two weeks off, and I was hoping we'd at least have a little family bonding time, and be able to enjoy some of that time doing fun things. Instead, he's spent his time caring for me and the kids, and a lot of our time has been spent in between doctors and pharmacies waiting for appointments and prescriptions. DS almost refused to leave the house yesterday when we told him we had to go to the doctor again. Poor kid.

On a positive note, even with all of the pain I've been experiencing, and the obvious sleep deprived state I'm in because of nightime feeds, I actually feel physically better than I did during the last month or two of my pregnancy!!! I find that pretty unbelievable, but true. I guess I felt even crappier than I thought. So, I'm happy that I'm finally on the road to recovery. (With a little help from the painkillers and antibiotics, but still, I feel better!)
